What does the Contrast X do?
Four things, all from the one unit on the front. Warm from 35 to 42 °C over three levels, cold from 8 to 16 °C over three levels, a contrast mode that alternates between them, an integrated vibration function, and a 660 nm red light at the contact point.
What is the red light?
A 660 nm red light at the contact point, under the wrap, selected from the unit on the front like every other setting. We publish the wavelength and leave it there. There is no study behind this product that we can point you to, so we are not going to tell you what it will do for you.
Where on the body does it go?
It is shaped for a shoulder or a knee rather than wrapped around a limb, so it follows the joint and stays in place while you move.
Do I need ice or water?
No. Both temperatures come from the thermal module, and the whole thing runs off its own battery, so there is nothing to freeze and nothing to plug in while you use it.
How long does a charge last?
An hour or more of continuous use. It charges over USB-C.
What is the difference between this and the Contrast Pulse?
The Pulse is warm and cold only and bends around an arm or a leg, at a lower price. The Contrast X adds vibration and the red light, and is shaped for a joint. The comparison above sets the two out side by side.
Is there anyone who should not use it?
Yes. Do not use it over broken skin, an open wound, a rash or an infection, or anywhere you have reduced sensation and cannot feel temperature properly. Check with your doctor or physio first if you are pregnant, diabetic, have a circulatory or nerve condition, or are recovering from surgery. Do not look directly into the red light. Not suitable for anyone under 18, and never use it while asleep.
What is the warranty, and can I return it?
One year from the day it is delivered. Returns are 30 days from delivery, unused and in the original packaging, with return shipping paid by you. Delivery is free anywhere in New Zealand, and technical support is for the life of the product.
